Research Into My Readings 2

Book Cover

Packaging and branding are different

Branding packaging design can take this a step further by creating unique packaging for a brand, in place of the all-too-ubiquitous options typically available, such as athe common tin can. In this book, we will explore how branding can be extended through the creation of new packaging shapes, forms and containers, which ultimately help to differentiate a brand.
What does this debate mean for those involved in pacakging design? To create truly effective packaged brands. Designers need to consider how both packaging and the brand can be devetailed together ina  way that mutually and effectively serves both the packaging and branding goals of a product. Branding packaging design creates something greater than the sum of its parts.
Some would argue that packaging is branding; that packaging represents the manifestation of the brand and the brand lives through and is enlivened by the packaging. For the end user, packaging is part of a product, from which to gain confidence in and develop loyality towards the product. To generate such brand loyality represents the packaging designers real challenge.

What is pacaking design ?

Pacakign desisgn is one of the key elements of a marketing strategy for a product as it is the visual face that will be promoted, recognised adn sought out by the consumer.

Review

This piece of research is telling me that trying to use the image of teh brand allready excisting is a great way to allmost kickstart your design inspiration as you now have a starting point. Letting the brand identity and the colours and even possible the shape of the packaging all itermingiling in themselves is a great idea and i will definatly be using this piece of research in  my final idea.
There is only one problem with this is that using  the colours of the logo might not fit in with my target audience. so i will use this in my final product but maybe not the the extent that i actually should.
